The iconic 1460 boot turns 60 this year and to celebrate, Dr. Martens is getting brands from across the globe to put their own spin on it. The latest version goes full punk, with LA-based streetwear label PLEASURES giving it a DIY-like, asymmetric reworking. It’s covered in scene-staple black and accented with signature hits of yellow, but that’s where the similarities end. The uppers are split with a centre seam, use two contrasting leather finishes – patent and matte – and are secured with work boot-like lacing in place of the traditional eyelets, while printed branding up each heel adds a bold finishing touch to drive home the PLEASURES inclusion.
