Needles and Baracuta partner to rework the much-loved G9 Harrington, transforming it in an array of bold paisley patterns.
Baracuta’s G9 Harrington is an undisputed icon. A subcultural favourite. A Hollywood legend. The list could go on, really. Ever since it debuted in 1937, the jacket has been a used for an array of purposes: outerwear, fashion, sports, you name it, the G9 is about as versatile as it gets.
It makes perfect sense that it would be the jacket of choice for a collaboration with Needles, then, given Keizo Shimizu’s deep appreciation for classic garments and their cultural importance.
The collection consists of five reworks of the G9, with all the features that make the jacket such a favourite left untouched: a two-button collar, Fraser tartan lining and an umbrella back yoke. Needles’ bold influence is immediately clear elsewhere, though, with paisley-patterned corduroy forming their constructions and that iconic Papillon logo at the chest.
