19 August 2022Celebrating the upcoming release of their collaborative Ultraboost OG 1.0 sneaker, END. and adidas hosted a community evening at Newcastle upon Tyne's Kiln Café & Ceramics.
On a balmy evening in Newcastle upon Tyne, END. and adidas hosted a community event at Kiln Café & Ceramics to commemorate the upcoming release of their latest collaborative sneaker – the “Ceramic Craze” Ultraboost OG 1.0. Inspired by the glazing technique known as crazing, a method that purposefully creates a web of small cracks across the surface of a piece of pottery, the sneaker celebrates the time-honoured craftsmanship of potters. Consequently, it seemed only right to turn to one of the city’s premier pottery studios to celebrate its launch.
Nestled in the city’s bustling cultural hub, the Ouseburn, Kiln played host to the evening’s proceedings, providing a menu of Mediterranean-inspired small plates expertly prepared with the finest British ingredients and accompanied with a variety of organic natural wines. Sound tracked by Newcastle-based DJ group and party Night Dancing, the evening offered the perfect opportunity for attendees to try their hand at pottery under the guidance of Kiln’s in-house master potter, Jun Rhee.
Ensuring attendees were able to continue honing their pottery skills at home, they were each gifted a ceramics starter kit including clay, essential pottery tools and a co-branded END. and adidas apron - the perfect way to add a touch of handmade charm to the home.
