The avant-garde designer's latest collaboration with VEJA fuses Owens' penchant for the unusual with an eco-conscious approach.
Formulating a redefinition of classic running style, Rick Owens and VEJA share their SS21 selection. A subtle infusion of Owens' avant-garde traits and VEJA's eco-conscious sensibility, the two sneaker models bridge the gap between the world of high fashion and VEJA's future-facing mindfulness.
Introducing the Low Sock Runner, Rick Owens and VEJA combine natural resources to build an athletic silhouette with game-changing potential. Constructed with a midsole made with 57% sugar cane and 5% banana oil, the outsole is formed with 30% Amazonian rubber and 31% rice waste. Complete with knitted uppers, made from 100% recycled polyester derived from plastic bottles, this sneaker is complete with a V logo to the side wall, made in a Pebax formed from ricinus oil.
After debuting last season, the Hiking sneaker returns this year, kitted out in a fully vegan construction. Designed to perform on rough and natural terrain, this all black, chunky silhouette is made with a P.U. coated organic cotton canvas, cultivating an elevated aesthetic in line with Owens' trademark penchant for all things mysterious.
