ARIES’ SS22 collection showcases the bold aesthetic favoured by Sofia Prantera, with an array of experimental treatments and patterns used.
Ever since founding ARIES in 2010, Sofia Prantera has defied all rulebooks, instead choosing to blur the lines between dichotomies and champion the experimental and bold. It’s something deftly displayed for SS22: a collection fuelled by Prantera’s love of unorthodox fabric treatments, ‘90s rave culture and playful graphics.
The collection is made up of an eclectic array of garments, ranging from sartorial classics like cardigans and vacation shirts, to the usual sportswear-inspired staples that represent a mainstay for ARIES.
Where things get bold is with the patterns and treatments applied to the garments; clothes are dyed and washed to give them that sun-kissed look of old favourites, while denim is covered in ‘90s-inspired cartoon patterns to further the nostalgic theme. The graphics used showcase the irreverence at the core of ARIES, with prints like “YOGA KILLS” and “NO FUTURE” detailed across garments.
